Practice Stagnation - More and more I have heard anecdotal stories of DPC practices plateauing rather than experiencing the desired increases in panel size. The reasons for this can be puzzling. Some practices blame it on higher patient turnover than expected. Some have monthly price points that are so high patients will not consider signing up. Other practices have prices that are so low patients attempt to use the practice as more of a cash-pay urgent care than a true DPC practice. Have you been able to push through these circumstances? If so, let us know in the forums or by clicking on the title of this link and entering a comment below.
Large Employers - Signing a DPC agreement with a large employer can be an excellent way to jump start a DPC practice. The homework needed to land this type of agreement can be complicated, requiring an intimate knowledge of the tax code and the employee benefits space. Check out this well written Forbes article from Dave Chase on The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Benefits Professionals. For those that want to jump right into the on-site DPC space, Proactive MD is hiring!
If you have DPC positions that are open at this time, just let me know and I will be happy to post the opportunity on the careers page.
